MEDICALLY DIAGNOSED TREATMENT
A successful program for your health & well-being.
Therapeutic & Rehabilitative Conditioning
This program is for those individuals with specific concerns and physical conditions that require extensive evaluation and adjustment during each session.
Therapeutic & rehabilitative exercises are typically for those individuals who have been medically diagnosed by their doctor or medical practitioner and need specific care & treatment. During the past 24 years, I have been referred by and have worked in conjunction with many of the practitioners in the Hudson Valley, including orthopedic surgeons, chiropractors, physical therapists and other bodywork experts. I have helped many individuals who have scoliosis, suffer from hip pain & low back pain, have rotator cuff injuries, knee or hip replacements, or have had ACL/MCL surgery.
My initial evaluation/consultation session involves a thorough gait analysis and flexibility/muscular strength assessment. I am then able to put together a full body exercise plan that not only relieves the symptoms but also addresses the true cause of the problem. It is my experience that many people who suffer from knee, hip and/or back pain typically have weak posterior (glutes, hamstrings, back) musculature or foot issues. Focus on these areas typically treats the source of the problem.
I also bring the experience of Yin & Restorative Yoga with me when I develop a therapeutic exercise plan for my clients. Myofascial release techniques can break up tensions and adhesions that have developed over the years due to injury or trauma. It is through slow, mindful and deliberate stretching that one can achieve better health & well-being.
